Ok folks, I have been having a hard time with the layout of my most recent quilt top. I ended up with a lot more medium tone fabrics than I thought I'd have. (You need contrast between the colors.) I tried to match them as best I could but the overall effect of the Bento Box pattern isn't shining through for me. What do you think the best layout is?

B, it has the added effect of being six boxes, while A doesn't actually do that.
They are both lovely though.
Actually there will be a total of 16 blocks. I just don't have the wall space. It was more of a sneak preview!
I don't know what it is about A but something about it pops for me. It is more random and does not look as composed (but of course only in the best way).
I really like the way A looks....fabrics are wonderful
your quilt will be unique.....too many bento box quilts out there!

There's something very subconscious about A, almost dreamy. It draws the eye into trying to form patterns rather than seeing the patterns already formed. Yay anarchy!
B is my vote. A looks like it blends a little too much.
You are soooo talented.

While I like A, I think there's no place for the eye to land, therefore, I voted for B. Of course, I know nothing about what a bento box quilt might be, but it seems to me you can never have too many lovely things.
both are gorgeous, ellen...but i do prefer a. something about how the colors scatter attract me! may say something about my chaotic nature though!
I like the colors alot! B looks more traditional but I like the way it looks... A seems too chaotic to me.
I loved getting to have a say. You should do polls more often. :D
I like A better. The 2 upper corner blocks stand out very well. You may just need to play with the rest of them to get the right combinations so that they stand out.
B is cool too, but the bento pattern does not stand out as easily since all the fabrics are the same in each block.
I see I owe you an email on this- we were out of town- sorry! I prefer B- I think the pattern is getting lost in A- as are the fabulous fabrics.
