Midwives deliver

As most of you know I am a crunchy-granola-home-birthing kind of mama. There was an article in the LA Times about Midwives and it's AWESOME!

What are you waiting for, go read it!

Midwives and doulas are different yet important int their own roles. A doula is a labor support person who helps you be comfortable, relaxed, etc. during labor and a midwife is the one who catches the baby, so to speak. A midwife is trained and knowledgeable with all the aspects of pregnancy and birthing.

I absolutely loved having Seth at home. Birth centers seem to be a stepping stone for a lot of women who don't want to be at the hospital but aren't quite comfortable with birthing in their own home. Although, the amount of support you'd get at a birth center isn't much different than what you'd get at home. Still no epidural.

I could talk all day about the benefits of home birth... so if you ever have questions or want info I can point you in the right direction.
