Squishy

Hi. It's been a few days since I last posted. Nothing to exciting going on really. Day to day stuff mostly. I seem to be busy all the time yet nothing gets done around here. Know how that goes? Of course, I'd probably get more done if the fall shows hadn't started up! Curse the TV. I also got myself hooked on Lost. I have heard so many people rave about it so I got the first season from Netflix. So far, I really like it!

I got the pylon today so I can get to work on the baby clothes quilt. I am a little hesitant to begin. Not that I don't think I can do this quilt but I've never cut up clothing for a quilt before. Once I cut there is no going back. It is no longer a functional outfit so I have to make it work in the quilt. I know once I get going on it I'll just cut them up without thinking about the cute little outfit that is no more. Silly, I know.

I have a whole bunch of t-shirts that were my dads that I have wanted to make into a quilt but I didn't want to cut them up. It's not like I wear them or anything, they just sit in a box. Once I get this commission quilt done I think I'll have to start planning my dads t-shirt quilt.

So, I have made a decision and if I put it out here for all to see then I have to keep my word, right? I am tired of being squishy around the middle. I weigh more this year than I did last. I don't want to ignore it any longer. I weighed myself at Tiff house this week and didn't like the number I saw at all. I am going to do something I've never done before. I am going to diet. Not severely, I won't go off the deep end counting calories unless I don't see any results in a few weeks. No more dessert and less snacking in between meals!I'm not breastfeeding anymore after all. I am going to step up my exercising too. I have put a half assed effort into running since July. I can run about 10 minutes now and I want to get up to at least 20. I will run a few times a week and yoga again once a week. Will it work? I hope so. I only want to lose 10-15. Here is my squishy belly for all too see, stretch marks and all. I took the picture after I ran today. No, I am not fat. Just getting too squishy!

It's hard to find a mama that isn't squishy in the middle... seriously.

I'm glad to hear you aren't dieting... I've found that exercising 3~4 times a weeks and cutting back portions works well. I try to eat the same portion as what I feed my kids. I also don't deprive myself of desserts but will have one piece of dark chocolate or one oreo (Newman O) to satiate my sweet tooth.

Anyway, keep us updated on your progress!

Yeah, your right Amy. Most moms are a little soft in the belly. I am fine with the stretch marks, they were hard earned, but I just want to slim down the padding. I am hoping the increase in exercise will do the trick!

Oh, I have a wicked sweet tooth. If there are sweets in the house I eat them. The hardest part will be baking. I like to bake but then I'll want to eat it... what's a girl to do?

BTW folks, I didn't go jogging in my sports bra. I took my shirt off when I came home because I was hot.

Those little outfits are cute. They will make for a very adorable memory quilt.

Can you send 1/2 of what you bake to work with Dan so there is less temptation around the house, but you still get the joy & relaxation out of baking? Just a thought.

I love to bake, too, and I found it helpful to give some away and freeze some. That way, I can't munch mindlessly. if I want that cookie, I have to wait for it to thaw. Doesn't work with everything, but it helps. Good luck, and you look great.
