Lots of things have happened over the last few days! We took a trip to the beach on Friday with Misty and Tiff and of course, our assortment of small children. The waves were a bit bigger than I expected but they weren't overwhelming. I didn't even get a chance to get my sunscreen on before Seth was hauling butt to the water. I did manage to put some on but as a word of advice, apply sunscreen in advance because you end up smearing gritty sand all over your skin. Not all that comfortable. After playing for a few hours we had some lunch at a little cafe close to the beach. All in all I thought it was a great day.
I didn't have my camera with me that day but Misty and Tiff both took pictures and should they happen to share any good ones (hint, hint) I'll pass them along to you.
Saturday we worked our butts off on the yard sale at Tiff's house. Man was it hot and humid! We lived through it and managed to collectively make about 270 bucks. Not bad for a hard days work. Of course we had to split it and then I had to pay for the stainless steel microwave and awesome chandelier I snagged. I also managed to come home with a foot locker for the kids dress up clothes, a new Christmas tree stand thingy, and a cat scratching post. Wasn't the point of the yard sale to get rid of stuff? Hum.
My mommy made an impromptu visit this weekend because she had a job interview in Trenton Monday morning. So, we bailed on our friends BBQ for Sunday (sorry 'bout that) and we went to the beach again with mom. If you remember the last time we attempted going to the beach in June we ended up having a cold and rainy experience so another trip had to be made! We only went for a few hours but it was totally worth it. I absolutely love the beach. I look upon the beach front houses with such envy. I could easy waste away my summer days with the beach right out my front door and sand always between my toes. Ahhhh....
Mom had only planned on getting her feet wet while she took some pictures but the ocean had a different plan and her skirt is still drying. The kids are getting more and more brave in the water. They all got knocked down more than once but got right back up to do it again. They did a little bit of body surfing with the waves. After a while we mad them all take a break and have a snack. What should you do while out of the water? Bury each other of course!

Sounds fantastic! :) Glad you guys had a good trip...
I can't believe you beat me with posting the photos! (It's not a contest, I remind myself.) It was so much fun and I so appreciate the hospitality of you and Daniel, who just allow me to materialize at will. (Don't you wish we just had a portkey?)
A port key would be fabulously handy! I posted this morning while you were off at the interview.
great pics, ellen, especially the covered sand bodies!
