Raspberries

We picked our own raspberry today. It was pretty fun actually. I wasn't sure what to expect since I had all the kids with me. They each got their own little bucket to fill ($3 each) and I got a big bucket that would be weighed when we came back. I discovered two things as we walked through the rows of raspberry bushes, one- bees are big fans of raspberries but they didn't mind us, and two- Seth loves raspberries. I think he was trying to eat his weight in them. He'd cram his little hand in the bucket as quickly as he could manage and shove the handful of berries right in his mouth. It wasn't something I could hide when we walked out of there because the little stinker had it all over his face, hands, and shirt. We didn't pick a lot but it was fun. We are going to go pick peaches on Monday. See, there are some really cool things to do in Jersey.

There were a few casualties on our little adventure. Simon scraped a scab on his knee and had blood running down his leg and on the way out Hannah broke her shoe. Never a dull moment.

After our full day of swim classes, playing on the play ground, eating a picnic lunch, playing at the spray grounds, raspberry picking, and grocery shopping Seth crashed out! He's been asleep now for about 2 1/2 hours. I've had time to put the groceries away, finish making covers for the pillows on the couch with leftover fabric from our curtains (see, that way the whole room kinda goes together! I sure am smart sometimes... sometimes), and posting to my blog.

Even better, it isn't blazing hot today like it was yesterday. Tomorrow will be even nicer, it's supposed to be in the upper 70's! Hurray! Fall is coming, fall is coming! I know it will be a while before it really cools off but one can wish for better weather.

Raspberry picking sounds like lots of fun!! I wish you'd taken a picture of Seth with them all over himself. Go you for being productive. :) You should show us what your coordinating living room looks like!
