Sew savvy

I have thoroughly enjoyed not having any classes. I miss my day job. You know, back in the day when I was a stay at home mom. Le sigh... My summer class started today. I am hoping to still have some "me" time this summer, even thought we are going to be busy.

So, I saw this messenger bag on a blog and fell in love. I had to make it for myself!

If by chance you decide to make one yourself and like mine, I made a few slight changes. I opted for using a patterned fabric instead of a linen and I didn't make the cute hexagons. The fabric was busy enough. Also, I used canvas instead of batting to help strengthen the bag. I didn't want it to feel too puffy.

Whatcha think? Adorable, no? It's only 9 x 7 x 2. I like all the little pockets on the front and the big one on the back. My iPhone fits so nicely and I know right where it is! It's not lost at the bottom of the bag where I can't find it.

I delivered the baby quilt. All wrapped up. You can't go empty handed so I brought banana nut muffins too.
